The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option for those looking for a mid-priced robot vacuum and mop. It gives a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.
In tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to help you map your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the top-rated robots. It is a powerful cleaner and numerous features such as a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your cleaning habits, and suggest automatic schedules to give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is in place, you can start cleaning automatically with just one button press. You can select a general clean that focuses on the removal of larger particles like cereal and rice. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is cleaned thoroughly.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some other models and can remove pet hair with ease. It's a challenge with plush or high-pile carpets however, iRobot says that future models will be more efficient.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the traditional hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has an improved filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price cost.
Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map your interior. It can then clean your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so that it is aware of areas that require more attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on higher-end models. The mopping system is superior - its spinning pads scrub floors better than the vibrating pads.
The only drawback is the absence of a second brush for deeper cleaning. But that's not a major issue when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank is also bigger than those on many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the highest dirt level.
For the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to scrub tough dirt from my floors. The two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or watch television without getting distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls and then move away when it encounters one.
What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and can automatically transfer trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is wrong for example, low water levels or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.
You can also create and merge actual rooms to customize how the Q Revo manages your home. This feature is helpful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home or in the event that you have to regularly remove clutter, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first pass. It is able to vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it to.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, as well as a rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with an automatic cleaning station that washes and cleans the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also has read more a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version has a sleeker, more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet high and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has faster battery charging and can handle a full cleaning of about 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris, making it easier to empty when needed.
The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that is functional even when you're at home. It also has more mopping modes and a smart routing feature which allows it to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead of simply following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested thanks to its rotating mop pads that remove tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also outstanding, and it also increases suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It is equipped with a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to a week. The mopping feature of the robot is also extremely effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and robot vacuum that comes with a host of features that you aren't likely to find on robots in this price range. It can build detailed floor maps, identify different types of flooring, and it's one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are nice, but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This could make it more expensive than homeowners need.
It is designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish accented by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is adorned with an impressive bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture when you are moving around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that acts as an on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, while clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The center of the control panel is an oblique menu that lets you select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons will open the app's settings which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to map out your house. This helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hardwood floors and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. The mops are also efficient, removing 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile and carpet tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from our hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
